Liquified Cargo Handling Simulator ( LCHS ) - LPG
Scope and Objective
The Scope and objectives of “ The Liquified Cargo Handling Simulator ( LCHS ) – LPG are to acquire knowledge and develop skills relating to the effective operation, supervision and monitoring of Cargo Loading, Containment, Discharging in LPG Tankers, acting as a Team. This course is designed according to the IMO Model Course 1.35 “LIQUEFIED GAS (LPG) TANKER CARGO AND BALLAST HANDLING SIMULATOR
The LCHS-LPG Course is also designed to address the following competence requirements:
- Regulation I/12, Sections A-I/12, B- 1/12 and
- Table A-V/1-2-2 of the STCW Convention and and Code as amended
The DNV approved LCHS- LPG e-Simulator incorporates a Fully Refrigerated Very Large Gas Carrier model based on a 78,000 m3 capacity VLGC with 4 Prismatic Cargo Tanks of Type A with associated hold spaces.
The Simulator exercises are supervised by a experienced instructor and allow the trainee to become familiar with the operation of LPG cargo loading, containment and discharging operation. Each exercise is preceded by a briefing session and followed up by a group debrief, which analyzes the actions and decisions of the trainee.
This course is highly customized to meet and then exceed the industry training requirements for working in Liquified Gas industry. It also focus on the relation between human attitude and a safe and efficient operation of LPG tankers.
” The LCHS- LPG” course is designed as per industry requirement and covers different aspects of LPG production and supply chain, Regulatory Frame works, Properties of LPG , Thermodynamics, Design & Construction of Cargo Containment System, Cryogenic pumps, cargo heaters, vaporisers, booster pumps, Reliquification Plant, safety checks, shore storage, floating terminals, cargo transfer system, ship-shore interface and compatibility process, ESD , Cargo planning, loading , discharging, Cooling, Inerting, Gassing up, Heating, Docking operation and stability calculation etc.
This is a Value added Course conducted using e-Simulator streamed directly to the trainee computer at his/her home.
